December - 2008 1st - Embroidery Club - 9:30am 2nd - JIM SALINAS with MODA will be here for a lecture on TEXTILES - 9:30am - you wanna know how your fabric is made? Where it's made? Different "runs"? Jim has been in the textile business for many years and has now published a book based on "Jim-isms". He is entertaining and informative. You'll learn a lot from him! 14 - Beginner Class 20th RGV Quilt Show - Pharr, TX 22 - CLASS AT TWO HEARTS - GUEST is coming to town! You will LOVE HIM! Don't MISS THIS CLASS!! 21 - Beginner class ends More classes to come will keep you posted Folks we try to really bring you some great classes with a variety of speakers from both in the Valley and outside of the valley. We ask that you respect these teachers by not only taking the class but being advocates for them. We appreciate our teachers, their works and the time they give to our shop. Classes make up a large portion of what a quilt shop is all about. I think that we, by far, have excellent instructors.4th - A Group is coming ! And, we should have the top finished before you leave the class - Mine is hanging in the classroom done in Christmas fabrics. 7th DEAR JANE CLUB - 1-4 - The Frontera Guild is bringing Brenda Papadakis to the Valley in January - When one hear's about the book Dear Jane (written during the Civil War) they immediately think of Brenda and her quilts. Each month you will received 3-5 patterns. Yes, these are 6.5" unfinished blocks. Yes, they are small. Yes, I know, at times you may be like me "all thumbs" but I am making myself get out of my own rut - and have challenged me to do this. Reckon I can get Jess to help me?? 8th - Frontera Quilt Guild 6:30pm - Encore Park - Harlingen - UFO work shop - IF you and your friends want to come and "hang out" at the store and work on projects prior to the guild meeting - come on over. The classroom is reserved for you! 10th - Christmas Angel doll - 9:00AM - This cherished heirloom could be a gift to a child, a friend, or even yourself. She'll make a beautiful addition to your home any season of the year. She is especially beautiful at this Christmas season as she brings to me the thought that we all have guardian angels and angels are with us everyday. 12th - Two Block Wonder - 9:30-12 - This is a great class for learning quick ways to make nine-patches and churndashes. 13th - RGV GUILD - Marble Arches - Mercedes 9:00 AM. 20th - Let's go strippin'! tote bag - 9:00am Kits provided with cost of class. 23rd Christmas Cheer at Two Hearts 10:30am - Tree give-away! Come join us for some Christmas cheer and goodies. What better way to spend the holidays with friends and family? DOOR PRIZES - MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN! The kits are available. My quilt is hanging in the store already. They are beautiful ladies. You can see how I've put them together with grandmother's fans. - Teacher - Barbara 14th - Doll Class - Just in time to make for Valentine's day for your little sweeties 15th - Stack and Whack Runner - (On display at the store) Learn a really fun project. It is amazing how a simple pattern on the fabric can change to something exciting! This pattern can also be used to make individual blocks that can be used in a quilt - Teacher - Nancy Flarity 17th - Beginner Class 9-1:30 Jacket from a Sweatshirt - 2:00-5:00 Sample is hanging in the store - and after the last class - several have come in and asked for a repeat. Teacher - Tila Davila 20th - Reversible Place mats - 9:30am - Make two seasons or two different ideas with one place mat with these reversible place mats. Nancy Flarity will be here to teach this class 21st - Michelle Watts - Dinner Lecture Trunk Show - 6pm - PLACE TO BE ANNOUNCED - I am fine tuning the location - as we will have it at a hotel or some sort. We want you to enjoy Michelle, her comedy, her personality, her love of the Southwest art and quilting in a nice relaxed atmosphere. At this moment - "yours truly" along with "my side kick - Jess" will be Chef's of the evening! You are in for a treat. 22nd - Class - Michelle will be teaching a Southwest Jacket 9-3 at the store. Sample her jacket should arrive within the next little bit - Michelle is renown for her Art. If you miss this class - you will regret it.
